Definitions to Understand
Exposure
Whether an asset (people, property, businesses, etc.) is present in a hazard zone.
Vulnerability
Refers to aspects of an asset that cause it to be susceptible to the damaging effects of the hazard.
Vulnerability Assessment
Assesses (1) exposure, (2) sensitivity, and (3) adaptive capacity of an asset (it is all-encompassing).
Exposure Analysis
A single component of vulnerability that is utilized to assess exposure to risk (it should be used to frame conversations).
